The Sacred Heart Cathedral with 2 bell towers was built in 1906 but was destroyed in the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923. The present Gothic style Sacred Heart Cathedral was designed by Jan Josef Svagr in 1933 and the alabastine statue of Mary from the Yokohama Tenshudo stands quietly on the premises. |
